A highlight of every Dinner is the presentation of one of two awards by the Detroit Baseball Society to a current or former Detroit Tigers player: the Bill MacAdam Tenth Man Award or the Tigers Legend Award. Named in memory of one of the Dinner’s founders and biggest supporters, the Bill MacAdam Tenth Man Award was created to recognize a Tigers utility player whose contributions to the past year’s team went above and beyond his limited playing role. In years when no clear “Tenth Man” has emerged, the Dinner has chosen to recognize a past Tigers great with the Tigers Legend Award.
